I have a job offer in China. The monthly salary is 4000 rmb per month. Is this enough to live comfortably?

I may be working in Hangzhao or Dalian? The other question is how is life in these towns?|||Well, it's not enough to live comfortably.


If you needn't cover the rent(1000-1500RMB), the lunch(15RMB), the electricity(100RMB), the Internet access fee(60RMB), it's ok. Or you can just live a life of ordinary level.





By the way, Both Hangzhou and Dalian are best cities in China for living.


Hangzhou is called the earthly paradise.


Also, the living cost is higher than the middle-sized countries.|||This is just above the average income of this cities, it presumably not enough for your foreigners live comfortably. It depends on all situations, if you need to pay house fee yourself, if your employer provide lunch, if there are good opportunities for promotion, if you want to do some part-time job such as teaching English...|||You need to provide more details such as if they provide meals and lodging or other benefits.





If you are provided with lodging without food - that is somewhat small.


if they provide you meals and housing - that is very average.


if you get bonuses plus other extras and possible increase - it's fine





If I will be the judge of it, it seemed pretty small. Some local office staffs now receive 3000 RMB with meals and housing. Dalian is much better, close to Shenyang and have more expats / foreigners in the area.|||4000 is very average. Although you can survive and afford few luxuries (going to restaurants, movies and buying some things you want), you cannot live the dream with it. Even still, it would be awesome to work in China :D Also, stick with Dalian, it is more vibrant and brighter city.|||If you live like a Chinese then that should be more than enough. Really chinese looking apartment, chinese food... but since i'm guessing you'll want to keep having a few western things by your side, like milk, cheese and deodorant, 4000 is barely enough to survive|||You can squeek by on that.|||That's about $615 US. That may cover your rent for a very small 1/2 room apt with communal bath, maybe?


You may want to reconsider the offer in less you can have an extra 1000/1500 US available per month.|||why do they offer so little?
