Sterling it is better to change it here to avoid any confusion but you need a documentation like Income tax or some state approved documents. The best thing is to exchange in UK by checking price in advance what they give in UK. Changing RMB to foreign currency is difficult inside china. You may get lower price in China than what you get in UK.|||RMB exchange rates are way better in China.
If you are not sure if the rate is good, then look at the spread between buy and sell. It's should not be more then 5-10%|||CHANGE HERE
