Is it easy to live off of 5000 to 6000 RMB's in Guanzhou China after rent , insurance and taxi?

Same answer as the last time you asked the question:

So if all your utilities, rent, insurance and transportation is already paid then all you have left is:

food

communications (internet/cell phone)

Sundries (laundry soap, shampoo, toiletries and the like)

clothing

savings

miscellaneous (taxi, dry cleaning, etc.)

Determine first how much you'd like to save each month (especially if you're planning a trip or something) and pay your savings account first. Perhaps you want to take a really nice trip next Spring Festival . . . set aside 1000 yuan a month.

That gives you 4000 left. (At your minimum rate.)

Cell phone calls/texts: 100 yuan per month (and that's rather high!)

Internet: 100 per month (I don't know what it costs in Guangzhou, but I think this is a safe number)

Sundries: 100 yuan per month (that's also high)

Clothing: How often do you need buy clothes? If you want to play it safe, go ahead and set aside 200 a month for this.

Miscellaneous: 100 per month (Increase if you find yourself taking a lot of taxis. I think the rate in GZ is 2.6 per kilometer (can't remember . . . I just saw the numbers on taxis outside the airport in February)

Excluding food, this makes your household expenses 600 yuan per month.

This leaves you 3400 yuan per month for food.

Yes, this is definitely enough to live on! That's 113 yuan per day (30 days). That's plenty enough for food, souvenirs, beer and cigarettes.

The idea is to have a plan on how you are going to spend your money. If you don't have a plan, then the money can easily disappear. If you do . . . well, then you'll have a lot of freedom knowing what's going where.

Good luck!|||Yes, it's ok. But the only thing is that it's an ordinary living standard. If you want to live a comfortable life in Guangzhou, what you need to earn is 10,000RMB per month.
