How much does it cost to mail a standard postcard from China to America?

Does anybody know how much money (RMB) i need to put on a postcard to mail it from China to America?|||4.5 Yuan|||go to the post office|||probably no more than 10 yuan

How long does it take for short hair to grow up to shoulder/collar bone/pony tail length?

I've been in short hair all these while, as far as i can rmb the last time i had long was 10 yrs old back in primary school. Now i'm 20, i decided to go back to the old school long hair(boy that's how long it took me to change my hairstyle).

My hair is not as short as pixie short, but the rather longer like erm..Ellen Degeneres type of short, with fringe up to my jaw. But my most recent hairstyle was bob.

As you know, bob is longer in the front and shorter at the back, as it grows longer, it is started to go out of shape. So i went to trim it, plus i heard that trimming will make your hair grows faster because of healthier ends sth like that.

But now my fringe is trimmed to be as short as the hair at the back, so i'm back to my usual short hair AGAIN and NOWHERE NEAR LONG HAIR.

How long more will it take for my hair to reach collar bone/pony tail length? Is it true that trimming will make it grow faster? Any other ways to make my hair grow faster?|||maybe about six months, it depends on how fast your hair grows

eat foods with lots of protein, and be gentle when you brush it so the ends wont break off. regular trimming doesn't make your hair grow faster, it keeps it from getting dry and brittle and breaking, so it seems like it's growing faster.|||few months.

|||I had hair that was only about an inch long all over, pixie style short, its now past my shoulders. The last time i got it cut short was about 2 years ago. But my hair is very fine and brittle, it breaks real easy. Trimming it will make it thicker and more healthy, but it wont necessarily make it grow quicker. Im just about sick of long hair and am thinking about going short again, no more tangles, just get up in the morning, put product on and scruff it up, away i go, no more brushing, no more expensive visits to the hairdresser for color, no more blow drying, no more washing and then detangling. Stuff this, im making an appointment tommorrow, i want my hair super short again.|||Trimming every few months does help, but only trimming, not having a hair-cut.

Slightly trim it and keep it the way it is, I heard the hair grows faster during summer.

Just forget it after trimming it, and one day you'll forget when you last had short hair.

I trimmed my hair in January, and for a month or two, I've been feeling it needs trimming again, so I'll celebrate summer doing so, and knowing it will be healthier and longer in fall.|||Max 3 months|||For Healthy and Shiny hair

It is better to apply castor oil for a healthy growth of hair.

Wash hair with tea once in a week. (more and more)

How much should a divorce lawyer in China charge for services?

A friend of mine entered into an arranged marriage many years ago that her mother instigated for financial gain. Now she wants to get divorced. She is a Chinese citizen living abroad who wants to get the divorce accomplished without returning to China. .

She phoned a lawyer in her hometown who asked for 8000 RMB to complete the process. This seems expensive to her. Does anyone have any knowledge in this area?|||8000RMB sounds very expensive. I'm pretty sure she could get a couple of CCP thugs to bump him off for less than that.|||To answer this questions.First, I would like to know whereabout this living abroad is? In most country, to instigate a divorce, you do not need to go back complete the divorce process in that original country. Go to a qualified lawyer at her/his present region, ask them what is the cost of divorce process fee without other party attendance. I am quite sure the lawyer firm will tell you. Because if you can file the process in your region, you save lots of money without paying airfare and some other fund. Going back to China to do the divorce, you need lot's of money to get going. The 8000 RMB is just the fee, you may have to pay for adminstration and service charge. In total, it will come to over 10000 RMB.

Hope this will give you some idea. Thanks for asking.|||8,000 is too much. Tell her do it old school way in China without all the paperwork, hire thugs and let them take care of it. Depending on her husband's size, small to medium built will take 2 thugs. For bigger built, 3 to 4 thugs may be needed.|||So, don't marry with who you dont love.

What's the difference between Tide China and normal Tide?

i live in beijing and when i go to the mart, there would be Tide (chinese version) and the normal Tide. however, the price difference between them are quite big. the chinese one costs 23 RMB (or around 3 dollars) and the normal one costs 100 RMB (around 15 dollars). they are both powder and weigh 3 kg. i still use the normal one but could someone tell me the difference between them?|||Wash yourselves clean! Is it time for a new Global Reserve currency (Chinese RMB)?

so it looks like th US is going under thanks to those psycho's in the Tea Party...and their willing puppies in Congress who call themselves servants of their constituents and of the wider American People

where can I get some of those all new Chinese RMB Travellers Cheques?

How can I exchange my soon to be worthless T-bills for some Chinese Debt investment instruments?|||The remimbi can't become a global reserve currency, as the Chinese government refuse to allow it to float on the international currency markets. If you want a reserve to put your money in, go where the rich are going - GOLD.

Price for one-way plane ticket (rmb) from Hong Kong to San Francisco?

Cost is dependent on what time of day and what time of year you plan to travel.

Check out Yahoo Travel Expedia or Sidestep.com.|||Singapore Airlines sometimes does surprisingly cheap deals--I flew round trip on them for $837 US last october. Also check yahoo travel, they can give you a sense of average fares. At current exchange rates that would be Y5700.|||Wow! Are you coming back.. It's pricey to get one way.. You can always get a round trip- go there first and you can return within 6 month. My Chinese Grandparent uses a travel agent in the chinese newspapers. I

In China how good a wage is 3500 RMB if all accomodation etc is paid for? Will it be a stretch?

Is this paid per week or per month and do you mean the currency in China (CNY - China Yuan Renminbi)? Also is it GBP you are comparing it to?|||The latest currency designation for China is CNY (Chinese New Yuan?) but I understand what you meant by RMB (renminbi?). Let's see: The per capita GDP in Shanghai is about CNY 51,500 /yr or CNY 4,292 month, the highest on mainland China (the figure for Hong Kong is seven times as much).

Based on that, I'd say CNY 3500/month is a pretty good salary, considering all accomodations are paid for. If you figured that accomodation allowance to be worth at least 25% of the salary, then your monthly gross salary is really CNY 4375, slightly higher than the Shanghai per capita GDP. Average if you live in Shanghai, great if you live in smaller cities/towns elsewhere in China, lousy if you live in Hong Kong!|||Rmb = Yuan

RMB 3500 (USD $440) is average salary in the city, not very good paid, btu i guess able to survive well. they can pay the bill, if they don't shop too much.|||The local currency is the Renminbi also known as kuai ( oral use ) or yuan ( written use ).

I am in Nanjing China and my monthly salary is 5000 yuam per month. Once my appartment is payed I still have 3500 yuan and it is more than enough to live.

It all depend how you live. If you leave as a foreigner then forget it. But if you try to live more like a Chinese then it is OK. With 15 yuan to eat everyday you can afford a restaurant for lunch and dinner ( provided you are alone ). A Mac Donald meals is about 22 yuans / a noodle soup 5 yuans / a can of Coca Cola 1.5 yuans.

So if you don't spend a lot, you can afford some trips around China from time to time by train or bus.|||I take it your coming here to teach, since that seems to be the low end of the usual salary. If your in a big center like Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing then it is not enough, but the schools in these centers offer more money to compensate. Therefore, at 3500/month, I assume your coming to a small place with little for western stores.

If you've come to party, and live like a king, then you will be broke at the end of every month. (Like many of the guys at my school) As long as you are not a compulsive shopper, then you should be fine, and still have money to travel every month, and live somewhat "kingishly" Avoid the "western restaurants" they are far too expensive, and the food is just not as good as home, or the chinese food you can find.

However, I would get the school to bump you up to 4000 RMB/Yuan/Kuai because that is what they are allotted for a foreign teacher by the provincial government, and I live in the poorest province.|||I not sure what RMB is, China is the Yuan CNY and this amount is about $450 USD. In their economy I would think this pretty good. I not really sure. What I do to get a comparison is try to find out what things sell for and compare with your country. Example; If, a computer sell for 7000 CNY then you know this about $900 USD. If, the computer actually sell for $500 USD you can figure luxury items may be expensive there. Hope this helps.

Is, RMB the Russian Rouble RUB?|||My son and his girlfriend (we are Brits) are living very comfortably in China on around 4000rmb each per month, with a "free" flat. I have visited them, and the flat is nice, modern and clean (Western toilet!!) , and they save a third of their salary and still live well, eating out a lot and often going to their local bar (run by an Australian). You'll be fine. Have fun!|||Depends on where you are and what you want to do. Large cities (Beij9ng Shanghai etc. tend to be a little expensive for some things. But you can still get a good meal (for 4 people) for 70 yuan rmb - much cheaper out of those centres.. . If you want to eat foreign food in BJ (say French)) you'll send up paying in excess of 300 yuan PER PERSON!

Just in case you are a little confused you ARE correct. The CVhinese money is officially RenMinBi Yuan but is often referred to locally as 'kwai' (the old name)|||That is above average for factory workers or mid level white collar job. You can live on that since your accomodations are paid for ( which is a major help ). But it won't be too much fun since all the fun stuff are costly, like pub crawling or clubbing etc.

Is China currency RMB the same with China Yuan CNY?

Yes, they are the same. The renminbi or the yuan are two names for the same currency, issued by the People's Bank of China. RMB and CNY are the two abbreviations used. Before the revolution of 1949 the yuan was the name of the currency. The renminbi ("people's money") replaced that, but the old name of yuan ("round") stayed in use too.|||I don't think so

I was offered a job in Beijing, is 7,000 RMB enough to live by?

Also, i have a cat, can I bring her to live with me or is there a restriction on animals (supposing the dorm admits her).

(dorm and food is provided).|||Hello. I have a very good friend (she's Brittish) and she is currently living in China. I just asked her your questions, and this is her answer. Hope you find it useful:

"7,000 is enough to live off but it isnt very much! Having said that i was paid 5,000 rmb in local curency and i usually went over it - but i was paid 2,000 USD into my English account too. It depends on what sort of quality of living you want. It definitely would not be enough to save but everything is quite cheap so it may be alright. Beijing is lovely too. As for cats I know 2 people who took their cats to china so it should be ok.

If your friend needs any further help i do know a friend of a friend who lives in Beijing. Now is the time to go as well with the olypics around the corner. It would be well worth going even if the money is not great.xx "

For me, the answer looks promising. And the olympics...!!! :D

Good luck in your decision.|||Hahaha!! They're paying you $100 a year?|||I'm not sure how you spend your money so i would not say it's enough or not. But i can provide you several references. A good freshly graduated undergrad from a very good university in China would have a starting pay of 4000RMB per month. A few of the undergrads or masters who are doing financial works can have a starting pay like 10,000RMB per month. But most undergrads would end up having 2000RMB-3000RMB starting pay.

For the cats, you can have your pet in beijing. But i think the transportation would be troublesome. You'd better check with the imigration.|||Think before you do it!!!!!!!!!! 7,000rmb in Beijing is a joke. I make 7,000rmb in Tianjin and that's good but Beijing has a higher standard of living and is more expensive. Also do not go for dorms unless you want to be bothered after class by students and living by dorm rules. As for food...well you're probably not going to want to eat there once you taste the food. Find a nice school that offers an apartment (single or double) off campus. Why...I learned the hard way, and got locked in every night at 10pm and wasn't allowed out! Or in! The pay also goes by your education and qualifications, the more you have the more they pay. Also see if they pay for your visa and expert certificate (also make sure they give you both...don't let anyone keep them for you). Beware of short time schools...they either want you to teach on an L visa or business visa, they make you pay for anything, or won't let you talk to other teachers at the school first. I call them short time schools because some schools disappear during the night taking your pay with them. Also make them pay for ALL medical expenses at a real hospital and will ensure that someone goes with you.

If you give the name of the school I can give more information. Also you might want to try Dave's Cafe (china section) or search the name of the school on line to see if any other teachers had problems there.|||it may be a struggle for you depending on how thrifty you can live and where you shop and eat. you are lucky that a dorm and food are provided , and I imagine you could manage on 1250 yuan per week

the average wage is much lower than this in Beijing and if you use your head, you will get by,

just be sure to make sure you have the money to pay for your trip home just in case things don't work out

I have no idea about quarantine restrictions for animals to get into china, but if their visa conditions for humans are anything to go by, it may be pretty difficult

take care and hope it all works out for you|||Yes, that is a LOT of money in Beijing. The average college grad can expect to earn about 2-3000 a month in the first year after school. As long as you're not one of those expats who always hangs out in westerner traps, you'll have more cash than you know what to do with.|||Yes, it will be enough. Beijing and Shanghai are more expensive then other areas of china, but you'll still have enough money to live comfortably. I wouldn't try to bring a pet there though. Fast food type meals are about 30 rmb or sit down 5 course meals for a family are about 300rmb.|||is this per month or year? 7000 is 920 US dollars acoording to exchange rate.|||if they are providing your housing 7,000 is really plenty, there are restrictions on bringing in pets, if you visit my answers to past questions you will find all the info you need for the cat|||yes|||really depends on how "luxurious life" you want in Bejing.

- It would be good enough for go clubbing 3 times a week.

-Go fancy western resturants 4 times a week.(suppose Chinese food doesn't appeal to you)

-Taxi in and out everytime

-purses, fancy dress, heels (from the Silk Market)

-mandicure %26amp; Pedicure twice a month (at a local price)

................

I assume 7000 is enough to live on, but you won't have that much saving for yourself at the end of each month.

As for cat, there would be restrictions for carrying it into China.|||i searched google and 7,000 RMB, aka Chinese Yuan is only 921.403 dollars...So if everything is really cheap in Beijing, go for it, but don't expect to come back to the States and be rich.

Best rate- Chinese RMB to dollars?

I work in China but my permanent home is in the US. My salary is given in Chinese RMB. I need to find the best place to convert a large sum of money so I can get the very best deal. The few places I have looked into have a very bad conversion rate.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can go to get the best deal? I live in Chicago.|||I don't know the rates involved in doing this, but perhaps it might be best for your to put the entire amount into a Chinese bank account (Bank of China?) and then do a wire transfer to your bank account in the United States.

I've not done this, so I really don't know the ins and outs and whether or not you can even do this. It might be worth checking into, though.

Good luck!|||In my experience, it can be difficult to exchange RMB to USD for an individual. If you want to take RMB to Chicago, it might be near impossible because the market for RMB cash is grey at best and not many will take it, especially large amounts. It is also illegal to leave China with a large sum of cash, and US customs will confiscate it as well if it is worth more then $10k US. I know a shop in Vancouver that takes it, but really their trade is in the bit you have in your pocket when you leave China. If you want to exchange it in China, again, there are places besides banks to go, but it is pretty risky as counterfeit The best bet for large sums is to do a wire transfer between your banks. You can also ask your employer to deposit to your bank in the US. In order to take large sums out of China you will need to prove that you gained it legitimately, so if the employer does not do it for you, you may need to take pay stubs to the bank to show them.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to move large sums of money out of China. My own view is that it is better to take the pain of the conversion in order to make sure it is legitimate and legal. Better to pay more on the exchange then to lose the whole thing.

Good luck.

Which countries can you use China RMB in?

Unlike tha US Dollar, the Chinese Renminbi can only be used in China and it's territories (such as Hong Kong and Macau). But you can always go to the nearest international banks if you posess Renminbi and you want to change to other currencies.|||soz, only in China mate. it can be changed to other currencies though.|||You can use it in China, and some places in Hong Kong and Macau accept RMB... mostly in department stores and boutiques. But don't use RMB in any store in Hong Kong or Macau, cause the conversion rate they had is very very high. So you'd be better off changing the RMB into HKD.|||Chinese ""RMB" are accepted in Hong Kong and Macau. Other countries u need to convert it back

Can I exchange my mainland Chinese RMB for Sterling in the UK - or will I get a better rate here in China?

Sterling it is better to change it here to avoid any confusion but you need a documentation like Income tax or some state approved documents. The best thing is to exchange in UK by checking price in advance what they give in UK. Changing RMB to foreign currency is difficult inside china. You may get lower price in China than what you get in UK.|||RMB exchange rates are way better in China.

If you are not sure if the rate is good, then look at the spread between buy and sell. It's should not be more then 5-10%|||CHANGE HERE

Can I live with 1500 RMB per month in Mutianyu, China? Lodging, lunch, and dinner would be provided.?

Take a look at this question on Yahoo Answers...

Can I live with 1500 RMB per month (minus housing expense) in Beijing?

I am interning at a local business in Beijing this summer. Hopefully if plan goes right, I can get free housing. So is 1500 RMB per month enough for the rest of living expense (food, shopping, clubbing)?

Below is what I wrote the that person. It should help you.

--------------------------------------鈥?br>

No way. If you want to do those things you will need much much more. Think about it... Lets say you go

Clubbing 4 times a month. I will go on the High end... Taxi to club. 22 RMB. Drinks at club. (4 drinks at 30 RMB each) That's 568 RMB a month. Over 1/3 of 1,500 RMB.

Food. If you just eat cheap Chinese food every day... ( food from hole in the wall places. Street Food... etc...) 30 days of eating... each meal will cost you maybe 10 RMB. 3 meals a day. that's 900 RMB. That's spending 30 RMB a day. Very Low. You may skip a meal here and there. But You wont want to eat just Chinese food. There will be times when you want some western Food. Those meals will cost you 50 RMB and up. Now you are at 1,468 RMB. Now you have 32 RMB to Shop. 32 RMB will not cut it. Even if my estimates were a bit high, you still won't have enough. There are Cell phone cards to buy. China Mobile cards are 50-100 RMB each. I use 2 of those a month. Then there is the METRO cards. Again 50-100 RMB a month. The Metro is cheaper than a taxi or bus. But when that metro shuts down at night you have to take a TAXI to get home.

I live in Guangzhou, China. I make around 12,000 RMB a month teaching English. I spend 6000 to 7000 RMB a month. That is including my Rent at 3300 RMB ( including utilities ) I live comfortably on 3000-4000 RMB every month. Save the rest. But I don't club. I do not buy clothes. I'm 6-3. Size 14 (52) shoes size. They don't make clothes for me. I eat Western Food one day a week. The Other days I eat Cheap Chinese food or semi nice Chinese restaurants. Also consider the amount of liquids you will be drinking. It's Hot in CHINA during the summer time. I drink about 3 bottles of water a day. Average bottle of water is 2 RMB. That's almost 200 RMB a month on water alone. Sure you can get a water cooler at your place. I do as well. But you can't carry that with you. There are so many little expenses that I can't list them to you now. So, do you think you can survive on 1,500 RMB a month? I would say shoot for 2,500 to 3,000 RMB. That would be a good comfort zone for you.|||Yes, you can live a very good life with 1500 RMB if your food and housing is paid for. In a big city in China it only cost something like 15 RMB for an hr of internet. Food is super cheap as are glasses (I got mine for $30 with the lenses) clothes are cheap, transportation is cheap. You can do it. Things just are not expensive there.|||That is approximately the same compensation package that an unskilled Chinese laborer receives. If you don't mind living at that level, then go for it.

1500 RMB = US$220|||do you know that mutianyu is part of the great wall and not actually a city in China?

Can I do Foreign Deposits online, US to RMB? Or is local bank better?

You can do it online. Try Google.

Edit: I don't know about the banks where you live, but if I walk into my local bank and ask for anything complicated I get blank stares and brain lock. Saying that you wanted a fixed deposit in RMB would get a response like "Does that mean you want to join our Christmas club?"

Can i just go to any local bank and send back Chinese YuanI(RMB) to China because i have relative there?

i mean from Ringgit to RMB

not Maybank other small bank|||If you have a current account with a bank, you can arrange a telegraphic transfer which you can make out in any currency you wish. You can then determine if local (Malaysian) bank charges, and overseas bank charges are charged to the remitter (you) or the beneficiary (whomsover you are sending the money to). If you pay the charges, the receiver will receive the nett stated amount in RMB (theoretically). You will need the receivers name and address, and their Bank and Swiftcode number, as well as the account number of the person to whom you are sending the money.

Alternatively you could send the money by Western Union (look for the signs outside banks).|||all overseas transactions will automatically be transferred into the local currency

Why is the JPY so weak compared to the RMB?

Because China's economy is growing rapidly with a history of keeping the RMB artificially weak. Japan's economy is only growing old so there is not much demand for JPY.

Is 19000 RMB a good salary to live in Dalian / China?

if per day, you are rich.

if per week, that is like what a clebrity makes

if per month, that is what an average person makes in America

if per year, you've been stood up|||Presumed per month, it is a very good salary, but per year you will not survive, or per week/day you are rish :D|||Reasonably good.|||Yeah, probably|||if per mounth,it is very good.if per year,it is too little|||Well i think ,your salary is rich enough

Is our Rm same as RMB chinese Yuan no trading outside of the country?means worthless in overseas?

No. As long as it is recognised as legal tender by a government, it's value is guaranteed.

It is just like if someone give you a million RMB in USA, do you consider it worthless? Sure not as you can bring it back to China and either

a) use it there, or

b) change it to other currencies like USD to use in other countries.|||Yes, both currencies can't be traded outside from respective countries.

Technically worthless but practically still tradable in certain 'money changer'.

What would expatriate in China do if the Yuan rate raise to 1$ = 4 RMB?

I mean most expat paid with US$|||What else ? They would ask for a raise like most employees would.

But I wouldn't hold my breath for that one, cause it will be years to decades before that 1:4 ever come close to materializing.|||A number of things would happen in China, However, it would effect the common people directly and many people in China would starve. I live in China and the amount of money that some people make is very low, if you cause them to make less they would not be able to survive.

bad Idea for this to happen|||I would think that expat's would start asking to be paid in RMB, I know I would, of course in the expat package salary is basically gravy, b/c the company pays for everything, housing, schooling for your kids and so on, so, the salary is just gravy, but, I think also besides people asking to be paid in RMB they might just all pack up and go home, or the companies would all move to Vietnam or Cambodia|||Good answer, Mr. W!

1US$ = 4 RMB is a myth.. at this moment ... Chinese Government wouldn't allow this "IF" happened!|||Well, that would mean I would have to reconsider my job options. Should I continue to work in China and try to renegotiate my contract or leave China and return to the States for work right.

What does 40 RMB mean in china?

can someone tell me what RMB mean?|||R (ren) stands for person 人

M (min) stands for people 民

What we been doin is wrong

And ya girls getting jealous

Cuz we been getting along.

And hang out at the mansion

At the Hamptons on weekends.

Then it all ends.

Have you ever been touched like I touch ya?

Been held like I hold ya?

Been loved like I love ya?

Be Free.

Be Free.

Have you ever been seen like I see ya?

Been heard how I hear ya?

Been felt how I feel ya?

Be Free.

Be Free.

[Ja]

Girl ya my (Sunshine)

But sometimes it gets a little cloudy

Don't it?

Them sunny days

See the sunrise

And wish that it could hit yaFace it.

I'd be great

To get up every morning

To eggs and steak.

But you can't be late

So we separated on good terms

And no ones concerned

About who ya been ******

And who ya ****** last.

But when I see ya still my question to ask is.

[Chorus 2X's]

Can I exchange Philippine peso to RMB in China?

Try the bank, or any international airport

g/l|||I've lived in china for more than 5 years, and I can say from experience that the chinese banks do not accept philippine pesos. It's the same in the Philippines, you can't find a philippine bank that will exchange your pesos to rmb. Exchange your pesos to USD or Euros first .

|||Probably not. I've not seen it listed on the exchange rates of banks. You'd probably be best to change your peso to US dollars or Japanese yen while in the Philippines and then exchange to the RMB in China.

Good luck!|||If any bank can exchange it it will be the Bank of China. I'm guessing here because they are the only bank in China who are allowed to exchange traveller cheques.

Taking RMB, Won, or USD to China from South Korea?

Which will be most cost effective and/or least hassle (in view of the fact that the RMB and won are higher against the dollar these days)?

1. Converting Korean won from my Korean bank to USD before leaving for China and then converting to RMB to deposit in a PRC bank?

2. Converting Korean won from my Korean bank to RMB before leaving for China and depositing in a PRC bank? OR

3. Withdrawing Korean won and taking to China to convert to RMB as a savings account deposit?|||Your best choice #2 OR # 3 especially when you have a debit card with UNION Symbol in it so you can used it for shop, eat and redraw money from any ATM bank. That way you don't have to worry about bringing how much cash with you all the time plus some popular place accepting Union debit card same as any Debit card or Credit card. when you need more info just search for union card or ask your bank how to get a Debit Card with a Union symbol.|||Use 1 or 3. It is more convenient to bring USD and covert to RMB in China cos I belief USD rates are better, more competitive.|||all are right.

I'm a Beijing guide. so i an tell you:

you'd better take your credit card and some cash,

when you arrival Beijing airport, you can exchange your money to RMB, keep the account bill, when you back home, you can exchange RMB to your money with the account bill.

have a nice trip.|||Option 2 is the best,

Option 3 is also good as the Won is easily convertible in the Banks in China.|||Whatever currency you bring they will change but in the bigger branches, one thing you must do is bring notes with no righting,no tears and as new or they will just give it back to you, they are very fussy on this.i have changed money here many times,so now ask the bank for new notes less hassle. On cash you get the lowest exchange rates,as of your credit card you get charged in China to use it and by your bank charge you again,so not always cheap that way.As of hotels there rates are lower than the bank's.|||I don't think you can convert anything to or from RMB outside of China. I think it's also difficult to find a bank that converts foreign currencies other than USD. They exist, but the process is slow and complicated.

But any bank can convert USD into RMB for you.|||If you want convenience, convert to USD dollars. This way, you can convert to RMB anywhere in the country, including many hotels.

However, converting Won to RMB will only be a minor hassle and you eliminate some currency exchange risk. Most banks will allow you to convert Won to RMB, but you might get referred to a larger branch in some areas when converting currencies other than Euro, Yen and USD.

If you do open a bank account, I highly recommend China Merchants Bank. There service is far above that of the State-owned banks and the wait is much, much shorter.

Converting Won to RMB is particularly easy in Beijing and in provinces that border Korea (Dongbei) due to large Korean populations.

Have fun in China.

If i intend to visit Shanghai for 5 to 7 days, how much RMB i need to bring? 1000 or 2000 Yuan enough?

no.

at least 3000 to 5000. lodging in shanghai is expensive. you are foreign so u won't know the transit system well right away. taxi can be expensive, you are most likely to be stuck in the gridlock for hours on a bridge or the tunnel during rush hours. only eat in nice restaurant, cheap dirty restaurant will get u visit toilets often and a waste of toilet paper.|||Well I once blew 1000 RMB in 2 days (1 night) and i am careful with my money.

Ok lets seperate out accomodation from other expensives.

Check out the webite www.elong.com and ctrip.com for hotel prices. You want to spend at least 200-300 on ok accomodation and 300-400 on good accommodation and of course it is Shanghai so the sky is the limit.

For expenditure, when it depends on how much you want to spend. 25-50 RMb per person to eat in a nice restaurant and 10-20 for cheap food (and eating on the street is an option and not that risky).

and 100-300 RMB for a really great meal.

Expenditure, well there isn't a lot to do in Shanghai and you will probably want to get out and about, so you would want to book tours and go to attractions that cost anywhere between 50-200 RMB to see.

Personally for everything I budget 300 RMB for budget travel, 500 RMB for a cheap trip and I would say most people would want to spend 500-700 a day on their trip.

2000 could be enough if you stay in a 150 RMB a night hotel, eat noodles and only most see what is free (which is a fair amount, but really only 2 days worth of travel)

reggae?? yes, of course|||Anything with lyrics and background noise can be considered music. For me, music is anything that means something to the artist. As much as I hate Soulja Boy, if he says that his lyrics mean something to him, then it's music. Rap is highly judged because most of the popular rap is all about gangs and violence. I happen to be a huge rap fan, but it's not the typical artists like 50 Cent or Lil Wayne. These artists are just in it for the money. The underground and low profile rappers really create amazing lyrics and rap about political and world problems. You mentioned the beats are all the same. You really should research "beat making." Especially someone like DJ Premier. These guys go through thousands of records looking for the perfect sample to turn into a beat. Although they may not use an "instrument," what they do is considered an art. As for reggae, Bob Marley was considered reggae, and anyone who says he didn't make music should be shot.|||Techno, not really into it so i wouldn't know ( but trance and house hell yeaaaah)

Who Has Their Dog On A RMB Diet?

What do you think and is it effective?|||Ive heard of a dog owner who has her dog on this kind of diet.

For various reasons, many pet owners are hesitant to switch their animals to a raw, meaty bone diet (RMB). Whether their fears are related to sanitary conditions, ease of serving or choking I have found that these fears are quickly diminished when one begins serving a RMB diet. The three

animals that benefit most from a RMB diet are dogs, cats and ferrets. I personally have two Mini Schnauzers so this article will focus on my experience with feeding these two dogs a RMB diet.

In any case, it is always important to be aware of our dog's nutritional needs. Here's a topic about it, http://bit.ly/2yLEk|||I think it's a great diet, but not for someone who isn't ready or capable of committing to feed the proper amount. Salary paid in RMB, changed in USD or EUR to transfer outside China?

I'll be working in China soon, my salary will be paid in RMB by a company located in Shenzhen. I'd like to know if it's possible to change our earned RMB into USD or EUR and send the money via bank transfer from Shenzhen to Europe?|||no|||Open a Bank of China account - you will probably need assistance from an English speaking local - and put the question to them at the time. Probably not as the govt., likes to keep a tight rein on foreign currency. Your company may be able to help. Be cautious about the street traders you often find outside banks. They will always be on the winning side in any transaction. Alternatively, go across the border into HK where you should have no trouble, but shop around to get the best deal. Make sure you get a multiple entry visa for going backwards and forwards between China and HK or you will be trouble. I did my final change in Singapore.|||I'm also working in Shenzhen and paid in RMB. However, it's not too much trouble for me to change it into HK$ when I return to HK.

Anyway, I think you can still open an a RMB+Foreign Currency Account at thelike of Bank of China in Shenzhen and do the transfer, as long as you have the proper documentation allowing you to do so.

It may be easier and cheaper (in terms of spread and T/T fee.) to do so if you go to HK once a month but maybe you have to take the fee for visa and transportation into account. Also, you may need to find a bank opening in weekend if you can't do it on weekdays.

Depends on your location in Shenzhen, you may need to bear in mind that in general, banks are crowded and bank tellers "work %26amp; move" extremely slow in China... it may take you couple hours just to do a straight forward deposit or withdraw... that's why our accounting staff needs the whole morning going to the bank...

How much is a cheap but reliable laptop in China, in us$ and in chinese RMB?

Laptop prices differ between China and other countries.

IBM/Lenova and other Chinese owned brands are cheaper in China than abroad.

Most imported brands have a tax, so the price can be higher than abroad.

Sony uses international pricing, so everything is the same in every country.

Your best bet on a good deal is to buy your laptop in Hong Kong.

Basically laptops are roughly the same price, so if you are in China, buy what you know and love.

You are usually looking at around 4000-5000 RMB for a decent laptop in China. $600-700.|||Laptops cost the same in China as they do elsewhere. A bare bones model with no extras costs US$400, but a good one costs US$600 to US$1,000. Domestic and international electronics brands are available in China. Lenovo, Acer, and HP are the most popular computer brands in China.|||if you just need a OEM laptop..you can probably get it like 300$ around

What do you think is best - BARF or RMB's?

Also, why?

Anyone feed something 'in between'? (say RMB's mainly but with a little yoghurt as a treat...)|||Tom Lonsdale, DVM was the creator of the RMB diet based on extensive research (I see you have the link). Another vet/collaborator broke off to start the BARF thing when he realized that no one in the vet profession could make a buck from that prey model diet.

Thousands of people feeding RMB have healthy, thriving dogs without shelling out extra money for "recommended" nutritional supplements, etc.

Fact is that dogs do not secrete amylase, the digestive enzyme necessary for the digestion of carbohydrates -- fruit, vegetables, grains -- unless, like their wild relatives (wolves) they're in "starvation mode".

Many dogs enjoy different non-meat items, just like humans enjoy products full of sugar. As long as it's not overdone, or has undesirable consequences (like diarrhea), the odd non-meat items aren't likely to produce any serious problems. Each dog is slightly different, just like we are.

After doing all the research, and applying it for several years, RMB comes out the clear winner in my experience.

Runners up, in preference to ANY commercial dog foods, would be BARF or even home-cooked food.|||Raw Meaty Bones themselves is not a diet.. its referring to bones with a lot of meat.

I think you mean BARF vs Prey-Model diet? Prey-model diets invovle feeding only meat, bones, organs, and offals.

BARF diet includes fruits and veggies along with the raw meats, bones, etc.

I prefer prey-model.. dogs are carnivores and dont really get much (if any) nutrition from vegetation. BTW Offal is entrails- organs, stomach lining, etc.. its animal parts. It may or may not have digested contents in it.

However my dog also does like some fruits and veggies, so they are offered as treats. He will practically do back flips for green beans.. and he begs for pumpkin guts when we carve jack-o-lanterns. Not much nutritional benefits for him.. but they are low-fat treats.|||Neither.

I don't see dogs as omnivores so BARF is out.

Dogs need more than just meat and bones so RMB's are out.

So prey-model/franken-prey. Bones, meat, organs/tripe, fish and eggs.

ETA: Very few people actually call it RMB most go with SARF, raw diet, prey model franken prey etc. Mostly since RMB stands for one part of the diet - raw meaty bones.

What does the currency RMB stand for?

Chinese Money

The official currency in China is the Renminbi (RMB or CNY)or in Chinese "Ren-min-bi". The basic unit is the yuan (also known as "kuai"),which equals 10 jiao (or "mao"), which is then divided into 10 fen. Paper currency comes in 1.2,5,10,50 and 100 yuan notes. Paper jiao come in denominations of 1,2, and 5. There are also 1 and 2 fen notes, but these are rarely used as their purchasing power is exactly zero. They didn't pay for them, they just ignored her and said no. She still married him. The reason she did that is because she sees your brother as probably a higher class than her so she diecides to put the price higher. If your brother falls for this tell him to give her half of the amount it's plenty. And to be honest love is not to be bought, it is not like u buy love from a shop. My advise is not to give a penny but to be truthful and faithful.. That's much more important than money. Trust me, she is taking advantage, if he gives her once she will ask for more.|||It's really an old tradition. Some parents still follow old traditions. A friend of ours here only 19 is being forced by her parents to get married so they can get money. But we talked to our friend not to follow anymore those traditions, she will just be unhappy all her life..Tell your brother not to give any single cent. He has to talk to his girlfriend that he is not into this tradition..Think of his future, and His future is not with the girl's parents. He saved money for himself and for his future wife, so might as well spend it with his wedding and future kids, they wont live with his in-laws anyways, so it is just like throwing his money away if he give into this tradition, its the modern times. She can always look for another girl if they insist.

Is 7000 RMB a good salary in Hubei, China?

I have ben offered a job as spanish teacher in Hubei, China.

They provide working meals and free accommodation, plus 7000 RMB monthly.

I would like to know if this is enough to live in China or not, before i take the job.

Thanks!!|||Your offer is typical of many employment contracts for foreign teachers in China. Most Chinese schools offer a one year contract with the following compensation:

* 5,000 to 10,000 yuan monthly salary based upon your experience and credentials

* Free housing (1 bedroom apartment or share 2 bedroom with another teacher)

* Free medical care (max benefit 100,000 yuan)

* Compensation for round-trip air ticket at end of contract (max benefit 5,000 yuan)

Many foreign teachers supplement their income by tutoring private students on weekends. You can earn an extra 1,000 to 3,000 yuan per month doing that .|||Congratulations. That's a very good salary compared with general citizens in Wuhan. I have a friend who works in Wuhan Science and Technology University, and her salary is about 5000RMB per month.

Therefore, I think 7000RMB is very good, as the living level in Wuhan is not high, compared with that in Shanghai and Beijing.

By the way, if you have free time, you can also work as a part time interpreter, try www.interpretersky.com|||I am not sure about how you usually spend your money, but generally speaking, it should be enough. For most people I think the salary is between2000RMB-5000RMB, and also you will be provided with working meals and free accommodation. Congratulations!

By the way, I am not sure whether you are a foreigner, but foreigners usually travel a lot while they are in China.|||You should be able to live rather well on 7000 a month. What's the exchange rate between RMB and US dollar now? with the huge inflation of RMB going on and depreciati?

on of USD?|||As of 2011-06-19 14:26 UTC

The exchange rate between China RMB and US Dollar is 6.47 rmb to 1 usd.

The US dollar is being artificially devalued within China and even with normal market flux, the giant devaluing of the dollar is beyond normal rates. Even with in other countries where the US dollar stood stronger than the local currency there has not been as significant a devaluing as within the PRC.|||To answer this question. The current RMB rate against USD are strong, The exchange rate varies from time to time. Currently at 100USD to 720RMB, or slightly higher. There are some black market guys may give you a higher rate. But don't take the risk, you may get fake money. Not to worry much of the inflation, as long as you watch when the rate is good, go and exchange it at a reputable and licenced money changing agency.

I travel to China very often, and watch the rate going up and down.

Good trip. Thanks for asking.|||My pockets are full of US dollars, whenever I go to Shenzhen and flash my US dollar bills, women surround me in an instant like magnet. So it seems the exchange is 100 RMB = 1 ugly girl named mei mei pulling your socks, 100 USD = three girls, two beers, one room, and a happy ender.

Hi, I am having a hard time finding out whether I can exchange my RMB into HKD from within Hong Kong. Thanks.?

I realise I can only take up to 6000 RMB out of China.|||been there done that, it is no problem, banks and exchange places both do it|||Go ahead they are readily accepted all over and everywhere in Hong Kong .You may also purchase HK $ in China, at about 0.93 yuan to a HK $.It is a lot easier to carry HK $ in cash since they come in bigger denominations of 500 %26amp; 1000.|||The first answer is correct. I got back from a trip to HK and Shenzhen about one month ago. There are places all over HK to exchange RMB. I exchanged mine in the train station.|||Of course, just go to a bank.|||you can find it all train station easily, but exchange rate is not as good as most other shops.

mostly they apprear in shopping area, and you just need to pay attention to it.

you can exchange money in the bank, in china or Hong kong.|||Yes you can, there are plenty of money changers in hk.if youre okay with the rate, then go ahead.there are even shops in hk that would acknowledge rmb.hkd is not well used in china, but in the Lo wu commercial complex[in shenzhen],its very welcome.

Can 16000 RMB live in china for 6 months?

I plan to live in fujian china for 6 months and only have limited budget. so i have to rent and pay for food. then just basic living, nothing fancy about room and luxury. can 1600 rmb do that in the place? thanks|||Honestly it really depends on where you will be! If you are in a smaller city you could manage for sure, as rent would be less than 1,000 per month in many cities, yet many cities are not that cheap, larger cities, ie shanghai shenzhen beijing, etc would be next to impossible. Fujian is not too expensive 16,000 for 6 months may do, but 1,600 per month would be tight. I would say what the heck go for it if you have 16,000. rmb, if nothing else you could always pick up an english lesson here and there to make some cash, it would not be difficult, just check online for that kind of info as well.|||let's calculate...

as far as 1,600 for 6 month is something fantastic, i take it as 16,000

so 16,000/6= 2,700

as far as you are a foreigner i would say "rather no than yes"...

first time in China you don't know where and how to rent the place, where and how to find the meal (out restaurants or self-cooking)...

plus your aims are unclear... if it's a back-pack travelling and the cheapest hotels anyway i don't see how you can make it for less than a hundred per day...

2,700/30=90

some people can do that but those are rare heroes keeping kinda survival level rather than living...|||Y1,600 or Y16,000?

If it's Y1,600 no way

Then you have Y8,000 for six months. Good luck it will be hard.

Oh and I was making 15,000 RMB a month teaching English|||do you mean 1600 or 16000?

How can i talk my mom into letting my feed RMB or BARF?

If you fed a dog 60-70 eggs it wouldn't get sick from any illness, it'd get sick from over eating. Dogs are designed to eat raw meat, organ, and bone...|||There are lots of health benefits to feeding a BARF diet, but it is expensive because you can't just buy the crappy bits of meat that's avoiding the whole point.

Explain to you mam the health benefits, find some good articles about it and show her them. If it's because of the price, she probably won't budge because it is a lot of money really, but if it's not that I'm sure you can sway her by showing her some good articles.

Research it properly though it is a really hard diet to feed and you have to know what you are doing. I personally wouldn't know where to start xD

On the other hand though, there are good quality kibbles that don't cost as much as what BARF would and are still good for them, such as Arden Grange, Joe and Jacks, Fish4dogs.|||You need to find out why your mom disagrees and then research and find out the answers your mom needs to help her come to an agreement. If its the "gross factor" you can agree to handle all the feedings. There are Raw Feeding groups on Yahoo to help get some of this informations as well as books.|||I was on a thread last night about raw feedings. Several people said they're so over that "designer" dog food. I have to agree with them!

I've spoken to my vet and he says Purina is the best dog food, bar none. He told me that they put more money into research and development than any other food. I just take his word for it and have the healthiest pups you ever saw.|||Ask her what she objects to with you feeding RMB or BARF.

If it is cost, get a part time job to contribute towards it.

Research the diets and explain it to your Mum.|||By offering to pay for it all yourself.|||what barf? what is barf|||WHAT?|||Ask her nicely|||what?

Is now a good time to invest in the Chinese RMB?

The US dollar keeps going down. should I buy some Chinese currency?|||I'm by no means an expert on Currency trading or on the RMB but I would research the following facts and the possible effects this would have on my investment decision.

China is the worlds biggest holder of USD (exc USA itself) and the biggest holder of Americas debt. IMO, if the USD is loosing value, what would be the situation if China recalled all the debt tomorrow, or in 2 years ? Obviously wouldn't happen but has to be thought about.

Also, in the near future the RMB will have to be revalued and the US have been calling for it recently I beleive.

If 89 octane gas in hong kong costs 6.8 RMB per liter, what is the equivalent in $US per gallon?

If 89 octane gas in hong kong costs 6.8 RMB per liter, what is the equivalent in $US per gallon?

How would I figure this out?

I know that 1g = 3.785L|||6.8 x 3.785 = 25.738 RMB per gallon

25.738 RMB= 3.77 USD (at current exchange rate on www.xe.com)

Therefore, the equivalent for 89 octane at 6.8 RMB per liter is $3.77 USD per gallon.

Thats pretty expensive, here in Arizona the current average price for 89 octane is $2.58 USD per gallon.

Can I live with 1500 RMB per month in China?

Well, I´m going to a intership in a Univerisity in HuangZhou, so I need to know if I could survive with this salary and it will covers my lodgings and food. Thanks.|||No!

Even for a local 1500 is very low in a city, and Hangzhou is a large city. Minimum for a foreigner is 4000 for a somehow modest living, and that is still very modest.|||Lodging and food cost 2000-3000 every month. The salary really not too much, but it should be a little bit higher than native young teachers in the college, if taking their lodging and food expenditure into consider.

I think they dont "take advantage of" foreigners only, they "take advantage of" everyone, that is negotiation, or bargaining.

Of course, some chinese are too "wise" on this, someone is rude, if you focus on bad things, it is always easy to find bad things anywhere, if you focus on good aspects, it is not difficult to find those good aspects, too.|||Too many variables, but let's take the best (you get lodging and food from the school at discounted rates) and worst (the school provides neither, leaving you to fend for yourself) cases. In the best case, this is definitely doable if you live frugally. No clubbing or night-time entertainment of any kind, taxi usage at a minimum, etc. Worst-case you'll be living in a crappy part of the city and with locals in an apartment compound that feels like it was built in the Communist era and you'll be eating at the same hole-in-the-wall places that the locals do as well as learning to take any coupons you can find for the better places. And get used to riding the buses or a bicycle.|||If you are from a western developed country, can you be satisfied with this salary??!!

Chinese food is cheap if you eat rice %26amp; veggies everyday, you can't even but an air ticket to another continent with that.

Make sure you arrange medical insurance, 1500 or 3000 can't be enough coz you need to pay a high deposit for hospital.|||Average Chinese person, someone who works in a cafe for instance earns 4000 RMB a month, the answer is NO.

You would have to eat only a bowl or rice or noodles ever day, walk everywhere, buy no clothing, have no phone or tv, not use electricity, live in a filthy hovel which will have no stove, no fridge, no hot water, no shower or place to bath, if you are lucky it might have a bed, and that will cost you about 500 RMB a month at least.

Forget haircuts, buying things like soap, toothpaste, deoderant, bottled water, and you cant drink the water in China, sheets, a pillow, a blanket, a towel, a bowl to eat your daily rice out of,

You not be able to go anywhere.

If you get sick you will be dead because you wont be able to afford a Dr or medicine. If your shoes wear out you will have to go barefoot, which they will do because you will have to walk everywhere --

That isnt an internship, that is being held hostage, because they think foreigners are stupid and rich

You can do WAY better somewhere else, they are screwing you big time ! And I mean BIG time. RUN like hell from this|||If you live like a Chinese student and have access to Chinese student dorms and fees yes it is possible but it will mean no drinking, nightclubbing or much sightseeing for you.

An example of prices for Chinese students are like

Shared dorm room 1000 rmb a term.

Food in canteen hall like 100-150 rmb a week, (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)

If your charged like a foreigner then forget it. Unless your lodgings is free and then its possible but with a struggle.|||im sorry, i didnt understand your wording...

will they be paying your rent??? your phone?? your food?? your plane tickets???

because if theyre not, youre getting a bum deal.

I'd say no, this sounds impossible, unless theyre taking care of all your expenses whilst there.

I've been living in china for a while now, and I cant stress enough how they LOVE to take advantage of foreigners... i mean, everyone everywhere takes advantage of foreigners, but here it is particularly pronounced.... part of the reason is SO MANY PEOPLE ARE BLIND TO IT and just go with it, be it because of their guilt, or whatever.

yea yea, some might say im BIASED, but those are only the white people that i mentioned before, the blind ones... try being a darker skinned person in this country, its like youre an anomaly no one wants anything to do with....

in my experience, they always offer you the lowest salary, unrealistically so... then when you tell them to F-OFF, they raise it, because in the end THEY NEED YOU... dont be swindled by these people... they know foreigners are easy targets.|||That's like 200 bucks a month, it does not matter if they provide everything for you, food, lodging, transport, you still can't live with that little money.

One night of clubbing costs around 300-500 RMB. Meals at local restaurants cost 20-30 RMB. Taxi? Sightseeing?

that's the Chinese currency 1 Chinese yuan = 0.135485 U.S. dollars|||China has two currencies .. the domestic one is the RMB and the foreign exchange one is the yuan. they exchange one for one, BUT you can only make such an exchange if you have permission from the authorities and a good reason for doing so.|||HI

It is our country's currency ,RMB=Ren Ming Bi ,same as yuan .just like USD is U S dollar .

What is the difference between CNY (Chinese Yuan) and Renminbi (RMB)?

They are the same thing. RMB is the abbr. of Ren Min Bi, or the People's Money. It is the official currency (maybe the only one) in P.R.China.

Yuan is the base unit for RMB - just as Dollar in USD. This is the currency system in mainland China:

鍒?Fen cent

瑙?Jiao dime

鍦?Yuan dollar

The first characters (you may not be able to see them if your computer don't have Chinese font support) are the Chinese character of the currency unit. The second is its Pinyin / English name, and the last one is the counterpart in USD.

So Yuan and RMB is not always the same (as Yuan is just one of the currency units in RMB), but they can often be used interchangeably. 2500 RMB and 2500 Yuan is exactly the same amount of money.|||They have different names. And, neither one is legal tender in Taiwan. This is the Y!A Taiwan section; your question belongs in the China section.

Is the symbol used to represent Chinese RMB the same as the Japanese Yen?|||According to what I have found on the web, each has it's own currency symbol.

The symbol for Chinese RMB is 鍏?and Japanese yen is 楼.

http://www.xe.com/symbols.php|||Yes, both symbols are the same.|||NO!

One has one bar, the other has two bars. I forgot which is which, but unreliable websites such as Wikipedia will tell you they're the same. RMB or Renminbi is the name of the currency. Yuan is the name of the unit.|||They look like the same but they're different.

Am I easily able to live off of 5000 to 8000 RMB's a month in Guangzhou China?

So if all your utilities, rent, insurance and transportation is already paid then all you have left is:

food

communications (internet/cell phone)

Sundries (laundry soap, shampoo, toiletries and the like)

clothing

savings

miscellaneous (taxi, dry cleaning, etc.)

Determine first how much you'd like to save each month (especially if you're planning a trip or something) and pay your savings account first. Perhaps you want to take a really nice trip next Spring Festival . . . set aside 1000 yuan a month.

That gives you 4000 left. (At your minimum rate.)

Cell phone calls/texts: 100 yuan per month (and that's rather high!)

Internet: 100 per month (I don't know what it costs in Guangzhou, but I think this is a safe number)

Sundries: 100 yuan per month (that's also high)

Clothing: How often do you need buy clothes? If you want to play it safe, go ahead and set aside 200 a month for this.

Miscellaneous: 100 per month (Increase if you find yourself taking a lot of taxis. I think the rate in GZ is 2.6 per kilometer (can't remember . . . I just saw the numbers on taxis outside the airport in February)

Excluding food, this makes your household expenses 600 yuan per month.

This leaves you 3400 yuan per month for food.

Yes, this is definitely enough to live on! That's 113 yuan per day (30 days). It would be up to you to plan when you'd want to spend more (or less).

The idea is to have a plan on how you are going to spend your money. If you don't have a plan, then the money can easily disappear. If you do . . . well, then you'll have a lot of freedom knowing what's going where.

Good luck!|||No, that is not enough money for you to live on comfortably. A 1-bedroom apartment will cost at least 3,000 yuan per month. Then you must pay for food, utilities, transportation, health care, etc.

Guangzhou is one of China's largest cities and a hub for manufacturing industries. The city is highly developed and cosmopolitan.|||Well, it depends, right~ I am from Guangzhou, I can live comfortable with 5000 rmb per month~ rent an apartment(but not in the very central of the guangzhou,i think), food(if you cook it yourself, it would be less expensive, but i think that amount money is enough for you to eat outside, but not every meal 100rmb or so,right)~ and all other stuffs, try to control a little bit. althought not very comfortable, but ok or good enough from a Chinese view.|||You see how some people don't really read all the info in a question. Happens a lot.

Yes you can get by OK as long as it's not part of your rent, utilities, etc.

Main thing is to not waste money on expensive food, eating out, clothes, etc.

Shop where the locals do, eat out where they do and remember to bargain when possible.

You won't be able to have a fantastic "let's go party" social life (unless others are treating) but

you can get by.

If you are fluent in English, know the little details of the language, you might earn some

more by giving basic lessons on the side.|||If food is also already deducted, apart from the already paid utility and rent, 5000 - 8000 is actually good.|||you can try translate" rent flat in Guangazhou" in chinese and see what it comes up.

Can I get a US checking account, online, that will allow me to transfer Chinese RMB to it?

Is Chinese RMB likely to devaluate in 2009? Among US dollars, JP Yen, and Aus dollars, which one is better?

Is Chinese RMB likely to devaluate in 2009? Among US dollars, JP Yen, and Aus dollars, which one is a better choice? Shall I exchange my RMB into US dollars?|||The government controls the exchange rate for the RMB and the Chinese will look out for their best interest. In the free market, the RMB would likely devalue...and I suspect the Chinese government will want a weaker RMB to improve export prices.

Compared to the past several years, the US dollar is strong now and the JP Yen is very strong now. The Aus dollar has fallen to very low levels. In my opinion, all three of these currencies have reacted to currency investors who are looking for a safe place to keep their money during this global recession. However, I can see no good reason why the Aus dollar is so weak. In time, the A$ should climb to its former relative strength.

The US$ and Yen should fall once the world economy stabilizes again and currency traders regain confidence.

This is my informed opinion only, and you should consult with other people whose opinion you respect.

If the Chinese Yuan (RMB) appreciates, what is its effect on a Chinese B share?

Chinese B shares trade in US dollars on the Shanghai exchange, and Hong Kong dollars (which are pegged to US$) on the Shenzhen exchange. If the Chinese Yuan appreciates, what will the impact be on a B share? Will there be a price movement, and if so which direction?

Thanks for the help|||Whenever the Yuan appreciates the B shares go up. The reason for this is supposed to be that as Yuan appreciates the B shares become cheaper for Chinese, so they buy them thus passing along the currency appreciation to the B shares.|||Any appreciation in domestic currency makes imports cheaper and exports costlier. Therefore, it is good for domestic importers and hurts exporters. Companies having major import exposure would benefit and software exporters get affected.

China has the 765Billion US Treasure Bond ,so if China sell out the bond will the USD Drop and devalue and the U.S economy will be even worse? is that why the economist said China in controlling the world economy and controlling is USD's Rate|||No, we can't say RMB is more powerful than USD. USD is still the 'big brother' since USA is the top importer for nearly all countries' goods.

However, China holds the LARGEST foreign exchange reserve in the world i.e.

USD 1,953 Billion (Mar 2009) and most of it in USD. This amount is more than 27% of the total world foreign currency reserves. In other words, China indeed can exert control on the USD rate.

Foreign currency reserves can be used as a currency warfare and just imagine China start dumping USD what will happen to it.

No. Treasury bond is just part of it. Selling the bond will not affect the USD. But if China sell its USD reserve to devalue the USD when USA are repaying the bonds, the debt amount will be few times higher ... and what will happen to USA?|||At this moment China economy is the strongest in the world. Why u praised US so much. Sikit-sikit USD.

Belajar lah respect lain-lain negara sama.

Even though I am not a Chinese (Mamak) I proud of China prosperous.
