Can 16000 RMB live in china for 6 months?

I plan to live in fujian china for 6 months and only have limited budget. so i have to rent and pay for food. then just basic living, nothing fancy about room and luxury. can 1600 rmb do that in the place? thanks|||Honestly it really depends on where you will be! If you are in a smaller city you could manage for sure, as rent would be less than 1,000 per month in many cities, yet many cities are not that cheap, larger cities, ie shanghai shenzhen beijing, etc would be next to impossible. Fujian is not too expensive 16,000 for 6 months may do, but 1,600 per month would be tight. I would say what the heck go for it if you have 16,000. rmb, if nothing else you could always pick up an english lesson here and there to make some cash, it would not be difficult, just check online for that kind of info as well.|||let's calculate...

as far as 1,600 for 6 month is something fantastic, i take it as 16,000

so 16,000/6= 2,700

as far as you are a foreigner i would say "rather no than yes"...

first time in China you don't know where and how to rent the place, where and how to find the meal (out restaurants or self-cooking)...

plus your aims are unclear... if it's a back-pack travelling and the cheapest hotels anyway i don't see how you can make it for less than a hundred per day...

2,700/30=90

some people can do that but those are rare heroes keeping kinda survival level rather than living...|||Y1,600 or Y16,000?

If it's Y1,600 no way

Think 2,000 per month for RENT and Utilities. = Y12,000

Then you have Y8,000 for six months. Good luck it will be hard.

Oh and I was making 15,000 RMB a month teaching English|||do you mean 1600 or 16000?

If it is 1600 for 6 months, it will be REALLY heard..

but for 16000 / 6 = 2666/month, you will be okay
