Is 14,000 RMB a month a good offer in Shanghai?

The salary is for an English teaching position that includes a 38 hour work week (Mon - Fri / 8 am - 4 pm). 14,000 RMB a month includes the salary, accommodation and transportation allowance (cost for bus). Any idea how much can be saved from that to help pay student loans? Thanks for your help!|||If you are really making 14,000 rmb/month teaching English in China then you are a god. Average teaching salary is 4,000-10,000/month. Take the job and have fun!!!|||Well I could probably save 6000 RMB a month on that salary. 4000 RMB for living, 4000 for a place to live (of course it depends on where in Shanghai you are).

Of course in Shanghai you can spend a lot more money, or if you are frugal save a lot (I met someone who was spending only 1500 RMB a month). If you live in a school, don't go out on weekends, you can spend very little.|||Yeah that's pretty good. Kinda long hours, but that salary is on the higher end. Should be able to save at least a $1000 bucks on that. I just recently came back from working in Shanghai. What school is that at? You can make good money in Shanghai teaching.
