Is it realistic to have a modestly comfortable lifestyle on this salary ?|||for a single man, yes, no probablem, if you are getting your housing paid for, your salary is pure gravy!
if you have to pay for housing, well, if you get a small place, one bedroom, old apartment building, 1500 rmb per month, if you want something newer and nicer, you are looking at 3000 per month|||That is approximately $1418 USD/month. That's a decent salary to have in Shanghai. I lived there for about 8 months and was renting a 2BR apartment in Pudong for only 2300RMB/month. If you live in Puxi, expect to pay at least 2x the amount for half the size. Food is very cheap compared to Western standards (if you can get used to local food) and in general, the standard of living is pretty low if you're not living the extravagant ex-pat lifestyle.|||Yeah, it is good for you|||10500 RMB is like US$ 3000 in the stated|||It is ok!|||Well above average, even if your accommodation is not provided by your employer. Remember that many Chinese make under 600CNY. An office clerk will make 1000CNY on average. An ESL teachers will make about 5-6000CNY on average. Certainly you can live comfortably even in a relatively expensive city like Shanghai. One thing is sure, you can live very well, but you won't be in any position to save money if you plan to move back to wherever you are from. Then again, many in the "developed" world, the working poor, don't earn enough to make ends meet, let alone save anything.
And maybe you won't want to move back...|||yes|||yes
